Newspapers are determined by the location of the position being advertised. When selecting a newspaper to fulfill the Sunday requirement, we make certain that it is the paper of general circulation in the location of the job. If the job is in a rural location where Sunday newspapers are scarce, we will provide a quote for the newspaper with the widest circulation in the area.
For those locations that have multiple daily papers that meet DOL requirements (ie: Los Angeles with LA Times and LA Daily News) we will provide a quote for each paper and detail the circulation numbers so that FLAG (the DOL’s ‘Foreign Labor Application Gateway’) can make a decision.
We can assist with abbreviating ad text, which in most cases will help with bringing down the cost of the ad.
We have contracts with most daily and weekly newspapers throughout the states. This helps to ensure we are able to provide you with the most cost-effective rates possible. In most instances, this will be lower than what would be extended to you. On occasion, depending on the newspaper representative you speak to, an extra discount might or could be extended for a local employer. In this case, we are always willing to negotiate the same rate with our contacts at any given newspaper.
Most radio stations mail all documents at the end of each month, so if your radio aired at the beginning of the month, the documentation will not be available until the beginning of the following month. We do provide an mp3 recording of the commercial, while we wait for the documents from the radio station.
A prevailing wage is defined as the hourly wage, overtime, and benefits that are paid to the majority of workers, laborers, and mechanics within a particular area. This data has been determined to be appropriate for this particular position in your geographic location, and it reduces the ability of employers to “low ball” their proposed wages to the detriment of their workers.
